The Mission of New Wine
New Wine Ministries began in June 2001. Pastor Kevin M. Jackson was given a vision to create an atmosphere for genuine worship and spiritual transformation. He stepped out on faith and began New Wine Ministries. He fashioned the name of the ministry using the scripture located in Matthew 9:17, with the theme, “you can’t put NEW WINE into old bottles”.
New Wine began in Pastor Jackson's living room with three people and a promise. The Lord then began to bless and the church still continues to grow. As God saves souls, we continue to earnestly contend for the faith that was once delivered to the saints. Teaching this concept has caused New Wine to direct a sincere focus on RESTORATION. The body of Christ is in serious need of restoration. We need to take our rightful place in the kingdom. Our focus is on restoring family, faith, finances, and most importantly our relationship with Christ. As we focus on these areas of ministry, Christ has shown us that “if He be lifted up that he would draw all men unto Him.”
New Wine also focuses on the heart beat of the community. We believe that if our surrounding neighbors are not being affected, then the church is of no effect. Christ has called us to save the lost, and that means the lost right around the corner from the church. Within the next three years, New Wine will be implementing major training programs that will benefit the lower income communities in the North/East Nashville area.
Pastor Jackson’s desire is for New Wine Ministries is to become a church for all people of every culture, race, and creed and to reach the entire Greater Nashville area with the restoration power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
