McNeilly Center for Children provides stimulating, age appropriate environments in which children can grow and learn. The Infant/Toddler and Preschool Programs are individualized to promote physical, intellectual, social and emotional growth of each child. Age appropriate activities provide a safe and challenging environment. The School Age Programs provide before and after school care during the school year and an all day program whenever school is not in session. Enrichment activities, tutoring, experiential field trips and recreation are combined for a developmentally appropriate program. Our commitment is to provide a program that will foster positive growth and development. This is accomplished by maintaining an environment where the children not only have fun, but also experience enriched learning. Our most important goal is helping children reach their full potential in all areas of development. We achieve our goal through outcome-based programming. Each child is assessed every month using an age appropriate assessment tool for cognitive, social, emotional and physical development. The class curriculum is planned to help each child reach his or her goal. The need for quality affordable childcare is an ever-present one in our community and often makes the difference between a family who is stuck in a cycle of poverty and a family that is on its way to self-sufficiency. The services of McNeilly Center for Children empower low-income families to create and sustain a better life for their families and prepare children for their future. This includes monthly parent support groups, referrals to other community service agencies, and an annual parenting fair. All of our parents are working, attending job training or school. The average annual household income of the families we serve is $19,000 and the average family consists of four members.
